2012 Healthy On The Hill Oct 22

Halloween is a favorite fall holiday for kids and a night of trick or treating can be a super way to get some exercise in. Walking and/or running through your neighborhood to collect candy is GREAT exercise, especially making the trek up all the long driveways in Sherborn!


It is a good idea to feed your kids a good dinner before going out to trick or treat so they have lots of energy and will also be less tempted to eat on the way. This will allow you the opportunity to check out their candy collection when they return home.

Once home, you can turn the candy review into a math opportunity. Kids can sort their candy into categories: chocolate, chewy, tart, hard, etc. You can even encourage your kids to make a graph of their collection.
