2012 Healthy On The Hill Oct 15
In honor of National School Lunch Week, CSA is funding a Taste Test Table in the lunchroom on Friday, October 19. Students will have an opportunity to sample an exotic assortment of fruit and vegetables, like jicama, sweet peppers, kiwi, mango and Judy Carnes' (Pine Hill's Kitchen Manager) homemade black bean, corn and avocado salsa, with tomatoes and herbs from our own Veggieville!
Did you know you have an open invitation to sign in at the front office and join your child’s grade for lunch? You can purchase the main meal (or alternative daily lunch options, like sandwich or salad) for $ 3.55 (what the teachers pay). No need to call ahead unless you'd like to request a particular lunch; in that case, a phone call to the front office would be great. Come and see (and taste) what's for lunch-- we welcome your feedback! Email Donna Moore at email@example.com with your thoughts.
The following a la carte items are available for purchase (this information will appear on next month's menu): milk (white and chocolate, 50 cents), water (75 cents), juice (50 cents), yogurt (75 cents) and string cheese (50 cents). In addition, packaged snacks are available for 50 cents and 75 cents, and 4 ounce frozen "100% Fruit Juice Rip Slush" tubes are available for $1.50. For a printout of your student's purchases, you may contact Judy Carnes, Pine Hill's Kitchen Manager.
