Enrichment 12-6

CSA's Enrichment Program has earned a far-reaching reputation for offering inventive, hands-on, and meaningful educational initiatives that enhance the core curricula of Grades K-5 and literally bring the educational experience alive for our students. These programs would not be possible without the tremendous support of CSA by Pine Hill families. We thank you for your much-needed donations of time and money.

Pine Hill first graders participated in an exciting presentation with renown author, illustrator and Sherborn resident Susan Meddaugh, pictured above.
Ms. Meddaugh brought her pad and easel and treated the students to an exciting assembly about how her beloved character "Martha" from her books "Martha Speaks" came to being. Martha was based on Ms. Meddaugh's own dog and their life in and around Sherborn. Ms. Meddaugh encouraged the children to pursue their love of reading, writing and drawing, hoping to inspire a future author in the audience. Part of Pine Hill's first grade curriculum is to have the children write each day, creating and formulating their ideas on paper. The students are encouraged to write from their own personal experiences - focusing on small moments in time. Ms. Meddaugh did just that when creating "Martha", illustrating to the students that inspiration and ideas come in many different ways and places!
